Youth Crossroads, Inc. works in the near-west suburbs of Chicago where only 3,000 out of the 25,000 low-income youth between the ages of 10 and 17 are in some type of pro-social after school programs or organized recre- ational summer activities. NRF is helping Youth Crossroads, Inc. continue to fill that gap. Youth Crossroads, Inc.’s new community initiative is designed to provide leadership development training to hundreds of at-risk youth. Similar to Youth Crossroads, Inc.’s other programs, this initiative will not charge any youth to participate in these services. Not only will the program help youth develop their leadership skills, but it will also help them give back to their community. It is expected that the program will result in more than 25,000 hours of community service being provided to needy organizations and individuals in the community.
