For Grantees

Support Beyond Grants

The National Recreation Foundation supports between 30-50 organizations annually through its various grant programs. Once effective and high-performing organizations are identified by the Foundation, we seek to support their work in other ways beyond grant dollars, including:

  • Building connections between grantee organizations across the country, allowing them to build a network of peers, learn from each other, collaborate, share best practices and more;
  • Sharing other funding opportunities offered by colleague funders;
  • Providing information about top outcomes and associated measurement instruments to help grantees evaluate programs; and
  • Offering two grantee capacity building workshops annually.

Our goal is to support and enhance the organizations we feel are doing critically important work in the field of youth development through recreation. We invest deeply in understanding our grantees' work and challenges in order to be a better partner. We know our success can only be measured in terms of their success.
