USA Swimming Foundation, the philanthropic arm of our country's governing body for Olympic swimming, has a goal of providing another 1 million children the lifesaving gift of swimming lessons. The Foundation’s mission is to save lives and build champions—in the pool and in life. As part of its saving lives mission, the USA Swimming Foundation seeks to provide opportunity for EVERY child in America to learn to swim.

USA Swimming Foundation grants are intended to expand current programming to reach under-served populations and communities that would not otherwise have the opportunity to learn to swim.

Community organizations offering youth swim lessons have the opportunity to apply for support now through December 17, 2019 at 5pm EST.  The USA Swimming Foundation’s annual grant opportunity was established to defray costs of offering youth swim lessons. These grants can be for a newly started, existing or expanding water safety program. This opportunity is ideal for NRF grantees that have swimming pools, lakes or river fronts. The USA Swimming Foundation will entertain proposals from organizations who are insured to provide swim lessons and who complete the online application in full, and submit prior to the December 17, 2019 deadline.

The first step in being eligible for USA Swimming Foundation support is to register as part of its swim lesson provider network. There is no cost for this, and the Foundation will provide support services including resources, materials, educational discounts, networking opportunities, and more at no cost. Additionally, your program will be listed on the USA Swimming Foundation’s national online directory of swim lesson providers, increasing awareness and helping to market your water safety program.
